Angel Studios continues to soar after $2 million Angel.com purchase

Angel Studios' Domain Upgrade

Many onlookers believed that AngelList had purchased Angel.com when it changed hands in 2021. The startup community’s go-to resource, AngelList, debuted in 2010 under the domain name Angel.co.

AngelList, which had raised $26.2 million in disclosed capital at the time of Angel.com’s sale, was an apparent and reasonable upgrade for Angel.com.

However, Dave Evanson of Sedo arranged for the $2 million acquisition of Angel.com by Angel Studios. Jeffrey Harmon, the co-founder of Angel Studios, acknowledged the acquisition, which was tied for the sixth-largest publicly reported sale of 2021.

Along with owning the advertising firm Harmon Brothers, Jeffrey Harmon also owns Angel Studios with his brothers Neal and Jordan. The company created a number of effective marketing campaigns, including one for Purple Mattress, which purchased Purple.com in 2017 for $900,000.

Despite a protracted lawsuit Disney and Warner Brothers brought against the company, which put the company’s future in jeopardy, Angel Studios appears to be another successful endeavor managed by the brothers.

Angel Studios, a film production company and platform for crowdfunded content, invites producers to use its internet platform to generate money for film and television projects.

With TV drama The Chosen obtaining $10 million through Angel’s crowdfunding platform to develop its debut series, the studio and its crowdfunding strategy appear to be a success. Tuttle Twins, a different series, raised $4.5 million.

The company recently announced that it has secured $13.5 million through equity crowdfunding, following a January 2022 venture round in which Angel Studios had raised $47 million. Angel Studios has also profited from investment.

Angel Studios’ website, angel.com, is a key hub where users may watch material created by the studio and make investments in upcoming endeavors. With the brand expanding quickly and having already raised $65.5 million in funding in 2022, the Angel.com domain is starting to have a bigger impact on the company’s performance as the brand’s focal point.
